White rotter of oak and chestnut (Rare). Saprotrophic on the dead wood of oaks and chestnut trees. Several velvety, dry tan-brown caps can grow from a single radicating stem. Like Fistulina hepatica, the pores are tubes that look like straws and are separable. Fruits in summer and autumn.
