AGARICUS abruptibulbus is a large white, smoothish, dry, convex to flat mushrm, that bruises yellow. It has a fragrant anise-almond odor. Persistant pendant ring. Stalk tapers down to small, bulbous base. Free, crowded, narrow gills. Brown spore print. Potential lookalikes include Agaricus silvicola. It does not have an abruptly bulbous base. Agaricus abruptibulbus is edible.
