Lactarius torminosus has a pale pinkish-orange cap center. It is somewhat zonate and depressed. It also has a paler inrolled wooly margin. Firm flesh. Creamy pink gills. Stipe concolorous, somewhat pitted. Latex white & acrid. Under birch.
