Aureoboletus auriporus (Boletus auriporus) "Golden-Pored Bolete” has a brown cap that becomes tacky on handling and  bright yellow-gold pores that don't change color on bruising. The stipe is much longer than cap is wide. Can be confused with other bright yellow or gold-pored boletes like Boletus illudens, which has a viscid grayish-brown cap, golden yellow angular pores, and small viscid stipe - yellow at the top.  In mixed deciduous woods.
