"Oak Milk-cap” In youth, it has thick white latex when the mushroom is young, which becomes watery with age. Red-brown, somewhat ZONED initially and slightly vase-shaped cap with white bloom. With age, the crowded, sometimes faintly decurrent gills become discolored with reddish-brown spots. No staining from latex. The stem darkens from the base upward as the mushroom matures. Somewhat fragrant odor, and mild to slightly acrid taste.
