This PowerPoint presentation addresses issues such as what the desginations in field guides mean regarding edibility of mushrooms; cultural differences regarding preferences for certain mushrooms and avoidance of others; instructions on how to prepare edible fungi for cooking and for long-term storage. I also give an introduction to characteristics of over 100 edible mushrooms and some of their poisonous lookalikes with recommendations on how best to prepare them, and references for recipes and further study.
