The Bankeraceae family is in the Thelephorales order. Fungi in the Bankeraceae family are stipitate and have spines on the cap underside. They  include species of Bankera, Boletopsis, Hydnellum, Phellodon and Sarcodon. They form mycorrhizal associations with mature broadleaf or conifer trees.
