LACTARIUS peckii is a medium to large distinctly zoned red-brown dry cap with a central knob on a sticky depressed disc. Gills are of varying lengths, off white, close, moderately broad and fibriate. Stem is concolorous. Can be found in damp habitats and in sphagnum moss. Its latex is white, voluminous and very acrid. Inedible.
