Gyroporus castaneus "Chestnut Bolete" Chestnut refers to the bolete's color, not the chestnut tree. It is associated with hardwoods, mostly with oaks. Small velvety brown cap and brown hollow stem; small white round pores. Very tasty edible bolete with a nutty flavor, (but there seems to be a toxic lookalike in Portugal, where it is not recommended for eating). Spore print is a pale yellow.
