Pachyella clypeata (Schwein.) Le Gal 1858
Pachyella clypeata is a small, flat dark brown to purple tinged rubbery cup fungus that grows from debarked water-soaked dead wood, mostly of broadleaved trees from spring through autumn. It grows singly or sometimes in small groups. The hymenium (interior of cup) is tacky when fresh, and lacks a stipe. It is in the Pezizaceae family in the Pezizales Order.
