Austroboletus gracilis var. pulcherripes
has a smallish reddish-brown cap with skin that sometimes develops cracks showing yellow with age. White pores slowly turn pinkish to brownish as spores mature and bruise brown. Area around stipe becomes deeply depressed. Stipe is long relative to width of cap and is coarsely streaked reddish-brown. Can be found growing under conifers, especially hemlock. Unknown edibility. It is in the Boletaceae family of the Boletales order.
