Fungi in the Serpulaceae family Jarosch & Bresinsky include the dry rot fungus Serpula lacrymans and Serpula himantioides as well as two other genera, Austropaxillus and Gymnopaxillus. Serpula lacrymans (Pers.) Gray is the type species for this family.
