Boletus separans (Xanthoconium separans) Peck
This bolete has been returned to name 'Boletus’ because it is related to the Boletus edulis type mushrooms. In time, all those boletes not in the edulis group, but having the genus 'Boletus’ will be given new names. The term ‘separans’ refers to the way the tube layer pulls away from the stem as the cap matures and expands. It is in the Boletaceae family of the Boletales order.
