Inonotus glomeratus (Peck) Murrill 1920

is a parasitic canker rot of sugar maples. It is also found on red maple and beech. It produces a sterile black, cracked and crusty growth that is more elongate than Inonotus obliquuis. Canker rots enter wounded trees and only produce fruiting bodies after the tree has died. It is in the Hymenochaetaceae family of the Hymenochaetales order.
