Cortinarius croceus (Schaeff.) Gray 1821
This small Dermocybe has a dry, fibrillose yellow-brown conical cap that retains a darker brown umbo with expansion, a yellowish cortina, yellow flesh, close yellow to yellow-orange gills that become rust-brown with age, and a dry silky fibrillose stipe that is yellowish above and rusty-brown toward the base. Mycelium at base is light yellow. Mycorrhizal with conifers.
