Domed/conical cap, flattening to slightly umbonate. It is dry, covered in rusty reddish-brown fibrils and densely crowded scales against pale brown/ochre background. Margin wooly, slightly inrolled. Gills wide, cream, toothed, splashed with pink. Stipe is color of cap. White sporeprint. Common under conifers in mountains in September and October. Not edible. It is a mycorrhizal mushroom in the Tricholomataceae family of the Agaricales order.
