Ganoderma applanatum (Pers.) Pat.
“Artist Conk” Saprotrophic and parasitic white rotter of hardwoods. A hard lumpy grayish-brown zoned woody perennial that adds a new layer of tubes yearly. Spore-bearing surface is white with small pores. Common on fallen dead logs. Pore surface bruises brown. Used by artists for etching on pore surface.
