Leucoagaricus americanus (Lepiota americana) (Peck) Vellinga 

The ‘Reddening Lepiota' is saprotrophic on wood chips. Generally whitish in youth becoming scaly and reddish with age and handling. Free, close gills. Movable double edged ring. Long stem, swollen base. Yellows then reddens with handling. Fruits summer and fall. Edible and good, though some have allergic reactions. Slice thinly, sauté several minutes.
