Suillus subaureus (Peck) Snell 1944
This is a beautiful suillus is mycorrhizal with aspens, white pines, hemlocks and possibly birches. The yellow cap is slimy and sports some scattered red-brown splotches. The flesh is also yellow. Whitish volval remains are attached to its margin. Its non-staining yellow-orange pores are angular and arranged radially from the stipe outward. Handling the ringless yellow stem causes a browning discoloration. Its spore print is yellow-brown.
