Niveoporofomes spraguei (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) B.K. Cui, M.L. Han & Y.C. Dai 1916 (Fomitopsis spraguei)
is found on base of dead trees as well as on living hardwoods, especially oak. White, ochraceous or gray upper surface. Sometimes has reddish edge. Young specimens bruise greenish at margin. Weeps water drops along margin and on upper and pore surface of fruiting body. Saprobic and parasitic. A brown rotter. It is in the Fomitopsidaceae family of the Polyporales.
