Lactarius mucidus var. mucidus Burlingham 1908

This is a viscid dark brown caped milky with a central depression and a paler pinkish brown inrolled margin. Gills are off-white to cream, close, forked in several places. The white latex is abundant and dries blue green Taste is acrid.  Found in woods with conifers from June to November. Spores are white. Inedible.
