Russula fragilis Fries ‘Fragile Russula’
Small, thin, convex becoming flat or slightly depressed cap with darker center and paler margin, viscid when wet, purplish to pinkish fading to white, smooth to slightly striate margin. White, attached, close gills sometimes having slightly serrate edges. Smooth, fragile white stipe that is larger at the base than at the apex. Whitish spore print. On ground, often in damp moss, in mixed woods. Extremely acrid. It is in the Russulaceae family of the Russulales.
